Backed by more than 25 years in field service engineering, Randy Mikus got his start upon earning a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Texas A&M University in 1990. Five years later, he commenced his first professional role as a production supervisor for Entegris, remaining until 2001. For the next 21 years, between 2001 and 2022, Mr. Mikus served in varying field service engineer and technician roles with PAC/ANTEK Instruments in Houston, Texas, X-Ray Optical Systems in East Greenbush, New York, CTI Engineering Inc. and Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, Illinois.
Since 2022, Mr. Mikus has excelled as a field service engineer for SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions. Throughout his career, he has commissioned more than 200 online process analyzers at multiple locations worldwide and engineered an expansion project on an emerging product line during his work at Entegris. Notably, he was awarded two certificates of merit from the United States Department of Agriculture and traveled to Anesong, Korea, as part of a three-person engineering team responsible for establishing a new chemical production facility.
In a career filled with highlights, Mr. Mikus is particularly proud of performing a demonstration at a refinery in California to provide workers with information about the function of flatbed trailers. This effort led to the sale of six analyzers, which were priced at nearly $300,000 per unit. Upon reflection, Mr. Mikus attributes his success to caring about people and creating strong bonds with colleagues.
To remain abreast of his industry, he currently maintains membership with the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University. Civically involved, he contributes to his community as a donor to Habitat for Humanity. Further, in December 2021, Mr. Mikus assisted with tornado relief in Mayfield, Texas. Looking ahead, Mr. Mikus intends to return to Texas and ease into a well-deserved retirement.
